Hours of Work: 70 hours per fortnight, (Shift rota Monday to Sunday)
Salary: £9.00 per hour

The Association is the largest YMCA in Europe and one of the largest providers of supported housing in London and beyond providing a safe place to stay for around 1,200 residents each night. As well as accommodation, care homes, education and training, the Association is focused on the transformation of communities through its Health and Wellbeing Centres, children, youth and family programmes including nurseries, after school clubs and soft play centres.
This role is based at our YMCA in Slough, reporting to the Housing Support Manager. The post holder will be expected to provide a supportive and secure environment for residents and assist them from moving from dependent to independent living.
Ideally, we are looking for a person with previous experience in a similar role and who will bring energy, passion and commitment to this position. An understanding of the social housing/charity sector would be advantageous.
• Covering the reception and securing the premises against infiltration by visitors (including checking CCTV)
• Ensuring that visitors adhere to the rules and respect the rights of other residents and premises
• Ensuring that residents adhere to the House Rules
• Being accountable for cash, supplies, any maintenance issues (to be reported to maintenance officer) and overall development of scheme
• Upholding Slough YMCA’s health and safety policies and security procedures
• Ensuring that the Communication book, Visitors book, Accident Records and Incident Records are correctly maintained and that line management is kept informed of the relevant information concerning the well being of residents
Applicants should be prepared to work night shifts on a shift rota basis covering all the days of the week. Applicants should possess some experience of working in a similar role at a similar level of responsibility; possess good communication and relationship management skills; have experience of dealing with vulnerable groups and security issues associated with a residential setting; possess experience of cash-handling and security of cash; be numerate and computer literate with good customer service/front of house skills.
