Hours of Work: 70 hours per fortnight, (Shift rota Monday to Sunday)
Salary: £9.00 per hour

As well as accommodation, care homes, education and training, the Association is focused on the transformation of communities through its Health and Wellbeing Centres, children, youth and family programmes including nurseries, after school clubs and soft play centres.

The role

This role is based at our YMCA in Slough, reporting to the Senior Support Officer. The post holder will be expected to deliver a high quality housing service responsive to the needs of the residents and provide reception support to the residents as well as administrative support to the supported housing project.

Ideally, we are looking for a person with previous experience in a similar role and who will bring energy, passion and commitment to this position. An understanding of the social housing/charity sector would be advantageous.

Duties include:
• Assisting with the day to day housing management requirements of the YMCA and dealing with any emergencies
• Assisting with the upkeep, maintenance and security of the building
• Providing office reception duties including managing the visitor’s book, taking calls, mail duties and overall security
• Handling day to day cash transactions using the in house computer system
• Ensuring that the premises are secure and monitor movements of residents in and out of the building
• Recording any incidents or disturbances
• Providing advice about personal safety, security, maximising income and welfare benefits to the residents

Applicants should be prepared to work night shifts on a shift rota basis covering all the days of the week. Applicants should possess some experience of working in a similar role at a similar level of responsibility; possess good communication and relationship management skills; have experience of dealing with vulnerable groups and security issues associated with a residential setting; possess experience of cash-handling and security of cash; be numerate and computer literate with good customer service/front of house skills.
