Get involved at YMCA Surbiton

Meet ups and more…

Lunch Club

On the last Friday of every month we get together to enjoy a traditional two-course meal, entertainment, a raffle and some fun and friendship.  All for just £8 a head.

Meet-ups

Every Monday join us for coffee and games between 10am–12 noon at the YMCA Surbiton Community Café with Nicky or at our ‘Teapot’ event every Wednesday with Joyce between 2.30pm–4pm. Enjoy each other’s company and catch up on the week’s events.

Community choir

Love to sing and meet new people? The community choir at YMCA Surbiton meets every Wednesday, 7–8.30pm. There is no audition and it costs just £3.50 – just turn up! For more information or to sign up click below.

Walks

We leave the YMCA centre promptly at 10am. Please wear appropriate clothing, especially footwear. We have a variety of walks throughout the year every other Wednesday.  We ask you to cover your expenses, but otherwise, all walks are free.

May 1 The East End jewel revisited

Another visit to the Olympic Park, concentrating not on its ‘artistic elements’ this time but on the colourful floral splendour of spring. The train/tube to Stratford, then a 4.5-5 mile walk on level paths and lunch in the Timber Lodge before returning home. Led by Brenda.

About 4.5-5 miles, level paths.

May 15 The mole Gap in Spring

We catch the bus to Box Hill and then walk the Mole Gap trail – beside the river and through woods and fields – to Leatherhead, lunch and the bus home.

About 4 miles, uneven paths with some inclines and a strong possibility of mud.

June 5 Little Venice and the Canal

By special request we return to Little Venice by train and underground, and follow the canal path to Regent’s Park and through the park to Baker Street, where we lunch before our return to Waterloo and home.

About 4 miles, flattish and mostly paved.

June 19 Brompton Cemetery

A train and tube journey takes us to a gentle stroll around yet another of the Magnificent Seven cemeteries, built in the 1830s to ease the demand for city centre burials and provide public green space. We then move on through Fulham for the return home.

About 4 miles, flat and paved.
