Out and about with YMCA Wimbledon

Community choir

Love to sing and meet new people? Following the success of our community choir at YMCA Wimbledon, we are starting a new group which will meet every Tuesday, 7-8.30pm. There is no audition and it costs just £3.50 – just turn up! For more information or to sign up please fill out our enquiry form.

YMCA walks

Our regular walks start from YMCA Wimbledon at 10am on a Tuesday, returning mid-afternoon. They are free of charge and you will need to pay for your own expenses, such as transport and refreshments. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in good enough health to participate.

28 January A short walk round Kensington Gardens on a winter day.

This circuit of the park includes kensington Palace, the Sunken Garden, The Round Pond, Italian Gardens, Peter Pan statue and the Albert memorial. Not the most attractive time of year to visit the park but quieter than later in the year and the paved paths should be mud free.
Travel to and from the walk is by the District Line Edgware Road branch with Wimbledon to Kensington High Street.
There is a charge of 20p for the public toilets in the park.

About 2 miles on paved paths

11 February A short walk round Kensington Gardens on a winter day.

A walk round the Walthamstow Reservoirs to admire the expanses of water and open skies set in an urban landscape. There should be plenty of birds to see, so binoculars would be useful. The walk will end at the visitor centre where there is a café and toilets. Travel to Walthamstow is by the Northern Line from South Wimbledon tube station to Stockwell and then the Victoria Line to Tottenham Hale, return via the same route.

About 4 miles long on paths and pavements
