We’re looking for enthusiastic, confident and creative people who love working with children for our Summer Holiday Playschemes across our sites at YMCA Hawker, YMCA Wimbledon and YMCA White House. If you’re free from 25 July to 26 August, have tonnes of energy and know your Peppa Pig from your Horrid Henry, then you’re right for us.
Your experience of working with children might be as a teaching assistant, or you may have worked in a voluntary capacity such as a leader for a youth group, run a drama group or coached a young kids’ football team. Perhaps you are looking to take your first steps in the rewarding career of Children’s Work. You’ll need to be creative, be able to think on your feet and get stuck in to activities. Whatever your experience, you’ll have a grasp of what makes kids tick, what inspires them and what makes them feel special.
Our interactive recruitment day on Saturday 21 May at YMCA Hawker from 11am-4pm is the perfect opportunity for you to chat to staff about the roles and have a look around the centre. It’s your chance to shine and really show us what you’re made of.

There are a number of roles available, such as Playworkers, Club Co-ordinators and Support Workers (offering one to one support to children with special needs) and a full time, term time managerial vacancy at YMCA White House in Hampton. If you’re interested in the Playworker/Support Worker roles, you can work up to 40 hours a week, but there is flexibility about the kind of hours that would suit you and fit in with other commitments you may have.
The pay starts at £7.70 per hour for Playworkers, rising to £12.50, depending on the role.
