Location: South Ealing
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week
Salary:£20-25k per annum – depending on experience
Our South Ealing site comprises 107 single rooms and 38 studio flats and 6 wheelchair accessible flats, for vulnerable, homeless young people. There are also 10 communal kitchens. Our residents can access a range of on-site support services to help them move on to accommodation of their own. There is a nursery and restaurant, as well as a studio for Children’s Activity Classes taking place onsite.
As Head Housekeeper you will be responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the entire site. Leading a team of 4 housekeeping staff and 1 caretaker, you will manage the daily cleaning rota and conduct regular quality-checks, as well as being responsible for ordering supplies, managing the housekeeping budget and reporting any maintenance issues as they arise.
As well as experience of working in a housekeeping role and knowledge of cleaning in a commercial setting, you should have experience of supervising staff and be able to keep accurate records. This role requires someone with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively.
The post holder will be responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the entire St Mary’s Road Foyer, whilst interviewing, recruiting, managing and training new staff.
It is desirable that applicants have:
- Knowledge of cleaning in a commercial setting
- Knowledge of basic health and safety in the workplace
- Knowledge of managing housekeeping supplies and order levels
- Knowledge of staff supervision
- Previous experience of working in a housekeeping role
- Previous experience of being responsible for work performed by others
- General education to O/GCSE Level standard or equivalent
