Meet ups and more…
On the last Friday of every month we get together to enjoy a traditional two-course meal, entertainment, a raffle and some fun and friendship. All for just £8 a head.
Every Monday join us for coffee and games between 10am–12 noon at the YMCA Surbiton Community Café with Nicky or at our ‘Teapot’ event every Wednesday with Joyce between 2.30pm–4pm. Enjoy each other’s company and catch up on the week’s events.
Love to sing and meet new people? The community choir at Surbiton meets every Wednesday, 7–8.30pm. There is no audition and it costs just £3.50 – just turn up! For more information or to sign up to your local YMCA community choir and
We leave the YMCA centre promptly at 10am. Please wear appropriate clothing, especially footwear. We have a variety of walks throughout the year every other Wednesday. We ask you to cover your expenses, but otherwise, all walks are free.
April 3 Round and about Spitalfields
Travelling by train and underground, we alight at Spitalfields – historically a place of refuge for incomers fleeing poverty and persecution in their own countries, where new and old buildings crowd side by side. Lunch at Liverpool street before we return home.

April 12 Chessington countryside
After a bus ride, we follow the countryside trail through the woods and Horton Country Park. before returning home.
About 4 miles, flat, but uneven paths and very likely to be muddy.
May 1 The East End jewel revisited
Another visit to the Olympic Park, concentrating not on its ‘artistic elements’ this time but on the colourful floral splendour of spring. The train/tube to Stratford, then a 4.5-5 mile walk on level paths and lunch in the Timber Lodge before returning home. Led by Brenda.

May 15 The mole Gap in Spring
We catch the bus to Box Hill and then walk the Mole Gap trail – beside the river and through woods and fields – to Leatherhead, lunch and the bus home.
About 4 miles, uneven paths with some inclines and a strong possibility of mud.
June 5 Little Venice and the Canal
By special request we return to Little Venice by train and underground, and follow the canal path to Regent’s Park and through the park to Baker Street, where we lunch before our return to Waterloo and home.
About 4 miles, flattish and mostly paved.
June 19 Brompton Cemetery
A train and tube journey takes us to a gentle stroll around yet another of the Magnificent Seven cemeteries, built in the 1830s to ease the demand for city centre burials and provide public green space. We then move on through Fulham for the return home.

Senior Social Membership
If you are aged 60+, you could benefit from our Senior Social Membership which costs £25 a year and as well as the fitness class discount, includes a 15% discount on trips and activities and on food and drink in the cafe (excludes pre-packaged items).
Alternatively, an Active Kingston Card is available to anyone aged over 60 and living in the Kingston Borough. It entitles you to discounted use of leisure centers in the borough during certain hours.
