Get involved at YMCA Surbiton
Meet ups and more…
On the last Friday of every month we get together to enjoy a traditional two-course meal, entertainment, a raffle and some fun and friendship. All for just £8 a head.
Every Monday join us for coffee and games between 10am–12 noon at the YMCA Surbiton Community Café with Nicky or at our ‘Teapot’ event every Wednesday with Joyce between 2.30pm–4pm. Enjoy each other’s company and catch up on the week’s events.
We leave the YMCA centre promptly at 10am. Please wear appropriate clothing, especially footwear. We have a variety of walks throughout the year every other Wednesday. We ask you to cover your expenses, but otherwise, all walks are free.
The Chessington Countryside, 6 February
After a bus ride we follow the countryside trail through the woods and Horton country park in a circular work before lunch and our return home. [About 4 miles on flattish but uneven paths which are likely to be muddy.]
Hackney to Islington beside the Canal, 20 February
A journey by train, underground and overground takes us to Hackney, where we walk to join the regent’s canal, turn west and follow the tow path to Islington. Lunch there, and underground back to Waterloo. [About 4 miles, flat and paved.]
Dorking town and country, 20 February
We take the bus to Box Hill, then walk through Denbies vineyard to Dorking and around the town, returning to Denbies for lunch. [About 4 miles, some inclines and probably muddy in parts.]
Bushy Park and water gardens, 20 March
The train from Surbiton takes us to Bushy Park where we walk through the woodland gardens to the water gardens, enjoying the signs of Spring before lunch and our return home. [About 4.5 miles, muddy in parts.]
