Housing Support Officer – Life Skills
Location: South Ealing
Contract : Full time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: 40 Hours on rota basis ( Monday to Friday)
Salary :£25,456.00 per annum

YMCA West London’s mission is to transform young lives. We provide flexible support, training suite and a life skills programme to up to 151 vulnerable young people living at the South Ealing hostel
We are currently seeking an individual with a passion for working with young people and a commitment to helping them develop new skills and confidence. Working in partnership with colleagues in the wider housing team and outside agencies, your role will involve the design and delivery of high quality learning and development programmes to meet the needs of young people and help them to progress towards independent living; including literacy and numeracy, problem solving, employment skills and more.
Preferably you will have previous experience, and knowledge of foyers and the Foyer Federation and an understanding of the issues facing vulnerable young people.In addition to excellent communication skills, experience of working with and delivering training programmes to young people is desirable for this role.
Ideally, you will have some experience of building partnerships with other organisations to deliver programmes for young people. A Teaching Certificate for Basic Skills / Adult Learners, such as City and Guilds 7302/7307/7407 or equivalent would be advantageous.
The post holder will be expected to work on shift pattern once a week between the hours of 8am-10pm. Early shift from 8am-4pm, middle shift from 11am-7pm and a late shift from 2pm-10pm one day a week (between Monday and Friday)
