Context of the Organisation

YMCA St Paul’s Group (SPG) emerged from the coming together of four separate Associations over an 18-month period. The group is largest YMCA in Europe and one of the largest providers of supported housing in London and beyond providing a safe place to stay for over 1,200 residents each night. As well as accommodation, education and training, the Association is focused on the transformation of communities through its 6+ Health and Wellbeing Centres, including an outdoor swimming pool and a wide range of Children, Youth and Family programmes including nurseries, after school clubs and soft play centres. Through the merger and accompanying new investment we expect the range, reach and impact of our services to grow so that we can better realise our vision.

The role

This role is based at our offices in Surbiton, reporting to the Human Resources Shared Services Manager. The post holder will be expected to assist in the provision of a comprehensive HR service for the Association involving database administration of HR & Payroll system, assisting with time and attendance processing, processing – new starters, changes, leavers, Disclosure and Barring Service Checks, recruitment exercises and other support duties to the team as required.

Applicants should:

  • Have at least 2 years’ experience of working within an HR or Payroll Processing Function
  • Have experience of undertaking of HR tasks eg. payroll, DBS, employment checks
  • Have experience providing support and advice to staff and line managers e.g. on Employment Law
  • Have up to date understanding of key employment legislation
  • Have understanding of issues around confidentiality of information and GDPR
  • Have understanding of payroll systems and processes
  • Have experience in collating and analysing HR Metrics
