Salary: £8.21 – £8.57 hourly depending on experience
About the Organisation
YMCA St Paul’s Group (SPG) emerged from the coming together of four separate Associations over an 18-month period. The group is largest YMCA in Europe and one of the largest providers of supported housing in London and beyond providing a safe place to stay for over 1,200 residents each night.
The vision of the Association is of ‘Places where young people thrive and communities flourish’. Its mission is to be ‘an inclusive Christian Association transforming communities so that all young people can belong, contribute and thrive’.
About the role
This role is based at our sites in Wimbledon and Kingston upon Thames and reports to the Pod Coordinator. The post holder will be part of a team that facilitates high quality, safe and creative soft play sessions and parties to customers. They will need to develop good relationships with customers and children, proactively meeting the needs of each group and answering queries about the services on offer.
Applicants should have:
- Knowledge of child development and appropriate activities
- Knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection
- The ability to lead and facilitate activities and parties for children
- Experience of working with children and families in a professional setting
- Experience of providing constructive play for children in a fun and creative manner
- Good writing skills in order to maintain children’s records, produce reports, etc
It is desirable but not essential to hold a First Aid certificate; hold a Childcare or Playwork qualification; hold a Food Hygiene certificate; and have knowledge of sensory provision for children with additional needs.
