About the Organisation

YMCA St Paul’s Group (SPG) emerged from the coming together of four separate Associations over an 18-month period. The group is largest YMCA in Europe and one of the largest providers of supported housing in London and beyond providing a safe place to stay for over 1,200 residents each night.

About the role

This role is based at our Corporate office in Surbiton reporting to the Head of Human Resources. The postholder will be an internal consultant providing an enabling business support to the Corporate Office staff and South West London region. The postholder is expected provide a range of generalist HR expertise to the Area Directors and Managers. The Business Partner is responsible for building effective relationships within their business areas and also provide the “voice” of the business back to the Corporate HR function.

This role will also have a key responsibility for leading on recruitment and will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of a managed services contract with our chosen provider.

Applicants should have:

  • At least 5 years’ experience working within a HR team as a generalist advisor or Business Partner gained within a complex organisation with multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of current thinking in HR issues and trends and evidence of continuous professional development
  • In-depth knowledge of Employment law
  • Chartered Member of CIPD or equivalent educational achievement

It is beneficial but not essential for applicants to be able to demonstrate understanding of the key business areas in which the organisation operates and have a clear understanding of the environment in which the organisation exists.
