Context of the Organisation
YMCA St Paul’s Group (SPG) emerged from the coming together of four separate Associations over an 18-month period. The group is largest YMCA in Europe and one of the largest providers of supported housing in London and beyond providing a safe place to stay for over 1,200 residents each night. As well as accommodation, education and training, the Association is focused on the transformation of communities through its 6+ Health and Wellbeing Centres, including an outdoor swimming pool and a wide range of Children, Youth and Family programmes including nurseries, after school clubs and soft play centres. Through the merger and accompanying new investment, we expect the range, reach and impact of our services to grow so that we can better realise our vision.

The Housing department (East London Branch) currently provides accommodation and support to over 330 single homeless people aged 18+ through a team of 12 Supported Housing Officers and a dedicated Rough Sleeper Assessment Bed project. We have four stages of accommodation through which we provide support services that enable our residents to move into their own independent accommodation.
This role is an integral part of the Housing back office team. You will be responsible for ensuring that our systems are working at full capacity to support the work of the Supported Housing Officers and to provide performance information. Rental Income is paramount to the organisation and the management of the system and maintenance of the rental accounts is another integral part of this role. You will be responsible for a number of different duties with the emphasis on providing a service to the highest standard.
You will be the first port of call for all Housing staff using these two systems so a passion for computers and systems is essential. An interest in data and statistics, a belief in their impact and the drive to use this data to improve performance and practice is key. The patience to explain these things to others in a clear and concise way is also essential.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Working knowledge of Salesforce/Inform – Housing Management System – or other CRM systems;
- Experience of maintaining and developing a housing management system for constant improvement of service;
- Experience of supporting front line staff in maximising the use of the system;
- Good working knowledge of Pyramid or other rental income system;
- Good working knowledge of Housing Benefit and current welfare reform / legislation;
- Experience of investigating rent accounts and highlighting and correcting errors;
- Proficient numeracy skills
- Experience of producing reports for management and board reporting;
- The ability to multi-task, work on your own initiative and work in a pressurised environment;
- A ‘Can Do’ and ‘willing to help’ attitude is essential;
- A passion for computers and systems is essential;
