Contract: Fixed Term until 31st March 2020
Hours of Work: Full time (40 hours inc evenings, weekends, public holidays)
Salary: £18,961.86 per annum

YMCA St Paul’s Group (SPG) emerged from the coming together of four separate Associations over an 18-month period. The group is largest YMCA in Europe and one of the largest providers of supported housing in London and beyond providing a safe place to stay for over 1,200 residents each night. As well as accommodation, education and training, the Association is focused on the transformation of communities through its 6+ Health and Wellbeing Centres, including an outdoor swimming pool and a wide range of Children, Youth and Family programmes including nurseries, after school clubs and soft play centres. Through the merger and accompanying new investment we expect the range, reach and impact of our services to grow so that we can better realise our vision.

This role is based at our YMCA in Walthamstow, reporting to the Head Chef and overseeing the Kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef. The post holder will be responsible for providing meals for residents and the public for seven days a week, increasing sales, profitability, and work within budget, provision of the meals, vending service, hospitality orders and maintain high standard of catering and customer service at all times.
The role includes:
- the day to day running of the Kitchen operations
- providing high standard of healthy food under budget
- providing food contents, allergy information and recipes
- ensuring the health & safety of the Kitchen is maintained at all times
- Have a recognised catering qualification eg. City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2
- Have a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (or above)
- Have 2 years or more experience as Chef de Partie
- Have experience in providing a nutritionally balanced menu and an awareness of allergy and nutritional content of menu ingredients
