YMCA St Paul’s Group (SPG) emerged from the coming together of four separate Associations over an 18-month period. The group is largest YMCA in Europe and one of the largest providers of supported housing in London and beyond providing a safe place to stay for over 1,200 residents each night. As well as accommodation, education and training, the Association is focused on the transformation of communities through its 6+ Health and Wellbeing Centres, including an outdoor swimming pool and a wide range of Children, Youth and Family programmes including nurseries, after school clubs and soft play centres. Through the merger and accompanying new investment we expect the range, reach and impact of our services to grow so that we can better realise our vision.

The Housing department (East London Branch) currently provides accommodation and support to over 340 single homeless people aged 18+ through a team of 12 Supported Housing Officers. We have four stages of accommodation through which we provide support services that enable our residents to move into their own independent accommodation.
The postholder will assist in, and be an integral part of, a Health and Wellbeing team delivering outstanding value for money customer services. Duties will include maintaining the membership and lettings database, completing BACS runs, handling general booking enquiries, undertaking administration procedures. YMCA Walthamstow want people to have fun getting the exercise they need and believe the social aspect of fitness will drive membership to our gym and fitness centre in even greater numbers as the business creates more opportunities for customers to exercise with their friends.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Good knowledge of the Leisure/Health and Fitness Industry
- Knowledge of high quality customer care
- Worked in an environment providing a service to the public
- Experience of cash handling, credit card transactions and reconciling tills
- Worked with a range of computer software
