For a little more than a week, Shantae Whyte has been sleeping, cooking and hanging out with friends in the Y:Cube prototype outside YMCA Wimbledon.
After weeks of hard work and preparation from staff and residents, the results were in for the 2014 Garden Competition at Langdown Care Home in West Molesley.
“Y:Cube is such a good idea and project”, says 22 year old Shantae Whyte. On Monday April 28th she will gather her belongings and move from her room in YMCA Wimbledon to the red and black Y:Cube prototype currently placed outside the hostel.
On Thursday 13th February YMCA St Paul’s Group unveiled our plans for a new housing solution called Y:Cube that provides self-contained and affordable starter accommodation for young people unable to either gain a first step on the housing ladder or pay the high costs of private rent.
Thursday 14th August saw the performance of a new play by the Benchmark Theatre Company at YMCA Surbiton.
