Contract: Permanent, 50 hours per fortnight (one week off, one week on, average 25 hours a week)

Salary: £12,987 per annum

YMCA West London is a part of YMCA St Paul’s Group (SPG). SPG emerged from the coming together of four separate Associations over an 18-month period. The group is largest YMCA in Europe and one of the largest providers of supported housing in London and beyond providing a safe place to stay for over 1,200 residents each night. As well as accommodation, education and training, the Association is focused on the transformation of communities through its 6+ Health and Wellbeing Centres, including an outdoor swimming pool and a wide range of Children, Youth and Family programmes including nurseries, after school clubs and soft play centres. Through the merger and accompanying new investment we expect the range, reach and impact of our services to grow so that we can better realise our vision.

The role

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and motivated Night Support Manager for our West London Roxeth Gate hostel.

The post holder will be expected to provide high quality, holistic support and temporary housing accommodation with associated facilities for young vulnerable people to develop their personal and social skills in order for them to live independently. Our residents are young, single, homeless, and have a wide range of needs, including employment, education, mental health, offending, substance misuse.

Duties include: covering reception to maintain the security of the site at night; ensuring residents and visitors adhere to standards of behaviour; giving advice, emotional support and general counselling; ensuring that the communication, visitors book, accident reporting and incident records are maintained overnight; communicating relevant information to residents as well as carrying out administration and cash handling.

The successful candidate will join a skilled team of Support staff, and will bring energy and enthusiasm to the post as well as a commitment to wanting to support residents and make a difference to their lives.

Ideally, we are looking for a person with previous experience in a similar role and an understanding of the social housing/charity sector would be advantageous.

Applicants should be prepared to lone work waking night shifts on a shift rota basis covering all the days of the week.

If you possess some experience of working in a similar role at a similar level of responsibility; possess good communication and relationship management skills; have experience of dealing with vulnerable groups and security issues associated with a residential setting and working with emergency services, we encourage you to apply to work with us.
