Important information regarding Nurserylands Pre School closure – from Friday 22nd October.

Please see the letter below which was sent to parents regarding the closure of Nurserylands Pre School. We also include a Q&A and details of how to organise alternative nursery places.

Q: Why are you temporarily closing now?
A: The decision to temporarily close during term is not one that has been taken lightly. We hoped we would have someone in post before the half-term, however, sadly, we’ve experienced challenges recruiting a long-term Nursery Manager, as well as other nursery staff. Therefore, we have had to make the hard decision to close on Friday 22nd October.

Q: What steps have you taken to recruit staff?
A: Our team and the charity has tried to recruit extensively for new staff.

Q: Will my child’s key person support their transition to another setting?
A: Yes, we will do everything we can to support children in to their new settings.

Q: Will I be contacted when you are able to re-open?
A: Yes, all existing families will be notified when we are ready to re-open. We will also update our website and social media channels.

Q: Are you able to help with sourcing an alternative childcare provision?
A: We have been in touch with Achieving for Children and they have agreed to support the smooth transition of children in to a new setting through their Brokerage Support for Families. You can contact them using the below contact details:
Phone: 020 8547 5215

Q: What qualifications do you require to run the preschool to an Ofsted regulated standard?
A: The Nursery Manager is required to hold a minimum of a level 3 qualification in childcare related studies.

Q: What is the criteria for a 30 hours placement?
A: Full details can be found here:

Q: Will there be a leaving party?
A: Yes. We will work with parents to confirm a suitable date during the last week of preschool and send out further correspondence once we have the running details.
