Based at Location: YMCA White House, Hampton TW12 although the post holder may be required to work at other YMCA London South West locations.

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 1 x 40 hours; 1 x 20 hours (worked in a rota including early mornings, evenings/nights, weekends)

Context of the Organisation

YMCA St Paul’s Group (SPG) emerged from the coming together of four separate Associations over an 18-month period. The group is largest YMCA in Europe and one of the largest providers of supported housing in London and beyond providing a safe place to stay for over 1,200 residents each night. As well as accommodation, education and training, the Association is focused on the transformation of communities through its 6+ Health and Wellbeing Centres, including an outdoor swimming pool and a wide range of Children, Youth and Family programmes including nurseries, after school clubs and soft play centres. Through the merger and accompanying new investment we expect the range, reach and impact of our services to grow so that we can better realise our vision.

The role

This role is based at our YMCA in Hampton, reporting to the Centre Services Manager. The postholder will be expected to provide a warm welcome and information on Centre and Association services to the public, guests, members as well as to any telephone and email enquirers. The postholder will assist the smooth running of the Centre, particularly controlling ‘people traffic’ in the reception areas and to provide admin support to the Centre.

Applicants should:

  • Be computer literate
  • Be numerate
  • Have knowledge of Health and Safety
  • Have worked in an environment providing a service to the public
  • Have experience of cash handling, credit card transactions and reconciling tills
  • Have worked with a range of computer software
