Hours of Work: 6.5 hours per week (Tuesday 0700 -1330)
Salary: £8.57 per hour

It is an exciting time to join YMCA St Paul’s group. The YMCA London South West, East London Slough and West London have recently merged their businesses. This new organisation will have a growing presence across London and Slough.
We support vulnerable and homeless young people by providing hostel accommodation, pastoral care and community activities, as well as supported living and affordable move-on housing. We have recently been in the news after the successful innovative development of the Y Cube, a low cost modular home solution. We aim to provide a safe and secure environment where people are respected, heard and valued.
But that’s not all we do. We support children, providing daily activities such as soft play, breakfast clubs, afterschool clubs and holiday play schemes. Our health and wellbeing centres offer people the opportunity to nurture their mind, body and spirit with gyms, group fitness classes and counselling, and we train local volunteers to work with our dedicated staff, as we fully believe in the positive benefits of community participation.
We’re affiliated to YMCA England, our national body, and share its passion to stand up for young people, to speak out on national issues that affect their lives and help them to find confidence in their own voice.
During these exciting times We are seeking a Receptionist who can provide information and a warm welcome to the public and to assist in the smooth running of the Centre particularly controlling “people traffic” in the reception area together with admin support. The Pool’s services are very weather dependent, the summer season can be very busy and the winter period quieter. You will be responsible for providing an excellent customer care service to centre users, conducting tours of the facilities; inform potential members and service users of memberships and promotions; taking room hire bookings and maintaining accurate receipting and accounting of all monies and credit card transactions taken.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an environment providing a front of house service to the public; experience of cash handling and to have worked with a range of computer software. It is essential for candidates to be able to relate effectively with people of all ages; to work effectively in a team and to be able to prioritise and manage conflicting demands and situations.
