Contract: Fixed Term (Mat Cover 9-12 months), Full time – 40 hours per week
Salary: £27,275 per annum

The primary purpose of YMCA West London’s South Ealing Project is to provide high quality, holistic support and temporary housing accommodation with associated facilities for young vulnerable people to develop their personal and social skills sufficient for them to live independently from the YMCA in a sustainable way.
Every member of staff, therefore, has the support of residents as their primary purpose. The principle accountabilities of this post therefore flow from that premise. Our South Ealing Project comprises of 151 units housing vulnerable, homeless young people our residents can access a range of on-site support services to help them move on to accommodation of their own.
We are looking to appoint a dedicated and motivated Senior Housing Support Officer for our South Ealing hostel, reporting to the Housing Manager and responsible for 3 Housing Support Officers.
The post holder will be expected to provide high quality, holistic support and temporary housing accommodation with associated facilities for young vulnerable people to develop their personal and social skills sufficient for them to live independently from the YMCA in a sustainable way and assist them to move on in a planned manner to more independent accommodation. The role also includes day-to-day operational management of functions which supports the residents at the South Ealing Hostel and the management of the Housing Support Officer team.
Applicants should have:
- Knowledge of housing and welfare benefits and the relevant legislation
- Knowledge of staff supervision and motivation methods
- Knowledge of the issues facing young vulnerable people
- Knowledge of security which may arise in a residential setting
- Previous experience of working in a hostel environment
- Previous staff management/supervision experience
- Experience of working with a vulnerable client group
