Senior Housing Support Officer (Lifeskills)

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and motivated Senior Housing Support Officer (Lifeskills) for our South Ealing hostel, responsible for one Life Skills officer and some volunteers.

The post holder will be expected to provide high quality, holistic support and temporary housing accommodation with associated facilities for young vulnerable people to develop their personal and social skills sufficient for them to live independently from the YMCA in a sustainable way and assist them to move on in a planned manner to more independent accommodation. The role also includes day-to-day operational management of functions which supports the residents at the South Ealing Hostel and the management of the Housing Support Officer (Lifeskills) team.

Applicants should:
• Knowledge of the issues facing young vulnerable people
• Knowledge of security which may arise in a residential setting
• Knowledge of the benefits system
• Knowledge of training enterprises and employment initiatives
• Knowledge of housing issues relating to residents participation
• Knowledge of residents participation, motivation and consultation methods
• An understanding of the training and development requirements of people with needs
• At least 5 years experience of delivering training services to young people
• Experience in the delivery of assessment and guidance
