Contract: Permanent, 14 hours per week – Saturday-Sunday
Salary: £6,180.72 per annum (£9.83 p/hour)
YMCA West London’s mission is developing opportunities that transform young lives. The primary purpose of YMCA West London’s South Ealing Project is to provide high quality, holistic support and temporary housing accommodation with associated facilities for young vulnerable people to develop their personal and social skills sufficient for them to live independently from the YMCA in a sustainable way.
Every member of staff, therefore, has the support of residents as their primary purpose. The principle accountabilities of this post therefore flow from that premise.
Our South Ealing Project comprises of 151 units housing vulnerable, homeless young people our residents can access a range of on-site support services to help them move on to accommodation of their own. In addition, we have rooms available for rent on a short stay basis to the public, and Children’s Activity Classes also take place on site.
As part of the Duty Support Officer team, you will be the first point of contact for residents and visitors. Responsible for the day to day security of the building, your varied duties will include taking bookings and payments for accommodation and children’s classes, and dealing with queries from residents and any issues that arise.
To be successful in this role we are now looking for like-minded enthusiastic individuals with the necessary experience to take on this role you will:
- Be customer focused, possess excellent customer service skills and you should have experience of working in a customer facing role, preferably within a reception environment or similar.
- Experience of cash and payment handling is also essential
- Have a high standard of accuracy and good communication skills
- Be able to deal effectively with challenging situations
