YMCA White House in Hampton welcomes you to a fun-filled and family-friendly Open Weekend on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
Get an active and energetic start to the weekend with the new fitness class at YMCA White House; Zumba Gold on Saturday morning at 10am.
Following Zumba Gold, you can join the bowls and table tennis in the main hall or yoga in the small hall. All activities are free and suitable for all ages and levels of fitness.
YMCA St Paul’s Group’s Health & Wellbeing Team will also be at YMCA White House, presenting an exciting new Inclusive Lives programme which aims to create more opportunities for people with disabilities across the boroughs of Richmond, Kingston and Merton. On Saturday 3 Oct here will be two 30 mins free Inclusive Circuits classes taking place at 12.30 and 1.30.
Also, for those wishing to make a lifestyle change, Weight Watchers will be on hand performing weigh-ins and handing out material all morning.
On Sunday 4 October, adults can join in with the Fit Friends group at 11am, or relax with the new YMCA White House exercise class, Tai Chi at 12.30 – 1.30pm.
For the children, Footie Tots/ Footie Wizards are running free activities from 10am on Saturday and on Sunday at 10am, Diddi Dance will get the little ones moving.
A taste of our YMCA Children’s Parties
From 2 – 5pm on Saturday, children and families are invited to get a taste of a children’s birthday party session at the YMCA White House. Come along and try our bouncy castle and sample party menu for free!
Also, in the corridor just outside of the main hall there will be preschool activities from 10am to 12 noon, and a lucky dip for everyone to take part in.
Meet your local Councillors
The YMCA White House Open Weekend is also a great chance to meet and get to know your local councillors.
Kate Howard and Geoffrey Samuels will be at YMCA White House on Saturday 3 October between 11am – 1pm and 3 – 4.30pm, and Councillor Martin Seymour will be there on Sunday at 12 noon – 1.30pm. Pop in for a chat about issues that matter to you in your local community.
Other Open Weekend activities include the Magna Carta Men’s Barbershop Choir, the Bridge Club and a model railway exhibition.
Children and adults are also welcome to join in the taster sessions with the Sweet Seams group (Sat 10am – 12 noon), the Patchwork & Quilting group (Sat 2 – 4pm) and the Knitwits (Sun 10am-12 noon).
The Tuesday Art Circle will also be holding demonstrations all weekend 10am -4pm, painting with oil, water colour and acrylics.
Visit our popular café
In the cosy and popular café on the ground floor there will be hot meals and delicious lunch sandwiches and paninis on offer. For the children, try our wholesome children’s menu.
The café will also have an art and embroidery exhibition put on by the Hampton Embroidery Group, the Tuesday Art Circle and the Thursday Art Group.
Sunday Tea Dance
The Sunday highlight is the tea dance in the main hall from 2 – 4.30pm, with classic tunes provided by the ballroom dancing DJ’s.
Entry costs £3 per person, including tea/coffee and cake. No need to book, just turn up. All ages welcome!
