Everyone should have a fair chance to discover who they
are and what they can become.
YMCA believes in fairness and opportunity. There are essential building blocks for a full and rewarding life: a safe home; acceptance; guidance; friendship; physical and mental health; academic support; employment skills; and access to real opportunities.
Many young people have never known these things; other people have lost one or more as they grew up, but we all need them. All of us.
At YMCA, we provide these critical foundations for a fresh, strong start for young people and a better quality of life in the community. We really wanted to hear from our young people about how we can improve the services we provide for them.
We conducted a survey to better understand the needs of young people across London. Young people are at the heart of what we do and the results from the questionnaire will help us as a YMCA to shape the services and support that we offer to young people and enable us to create a community where young people thrive and communities flourish.
All our youth services are free and provide safe and inviting spaces for young people between the ages of 11-21 to try new things or simply hang out with friends. Experienced and qualified youth workers and coaches are there to provide advice and guidance and run a range of activities for young people to grow, develop and reach their full potential. We aim to respond to the needs of young people in our communities, including our younger residents.
