Breakfast and After School Clubs

Just wanted to say we’re very pleased with the after school club care at Whittingham and our kids love it. The fact that the same core members of staff have been there since our eldest started is a massive bonus and adds to the ‘family’ vibe of the setting.

Michelle and her team are fantastic, very professional, my son cannot wait another session. Highly recommend this club.

This is a great afterschool provision – the activities are creative and varied, there is plenty of exercise and outdoor activities and the staff are caring and kind. Our children are very happy there and I feel completely confident in the competence and commitment of the staff.

I’m incredibly grateful for the care and dedication the after-school club shows to my children. I honestly couldn’t imagine trusting any other club more to look after them — the team creates such a safe, warm, and positive environment. Every time I pick them up they’re relaxed, cheerful, and full of stories about their afternoon, which tells me everything I need to know about how well they’re being supported and engaged. It gives me real peace of mind knowing they’re in such good hands, and I truly appreciate the consistency, kindness, and professionalism you show every day

My children really enjoy going to YMCA club. The staff are incredibly helpful & caring towards the children, & Michelle is excellent in terms of communication & organisation. We are really lucky to have use of the provision.

My son loves YMCA and the fun and creative activities the do. He always has the best time and really enjoys it.

My child is very happy at YMCA and the staff are warm/caring – always welcoming children with a smile. A very good variety of activities – particularly the arts and crafts – and lots of opportunity for children to get active / play games. Children have fun, but it always seems calm/settled due to effective leadership.

We’ve been using YMCA at Handsworth for the last 4 years and been very happy with the support and engagement with our child. He enjoys the activities, but enjoys being with the staff and friends the most.

My child loves going to YMCA after school. The art projects and outdoor activities are creative, amazing for the children’s imaginations and fun.

The club staff at Whittingham Primary Academy are fantastic and my son really enjoys attending the club both AM & PM.

Can’t speak highly enough of the staff who manage the Handsworth after school club – our children love all the different activities they do and have made some great friendships outside of their usual classmates/year group. Michelle is super helpful with any queries or sharing updates. Thanks for everything you do!
