Welcome to the August issue of our monthly online newsletter for children and families, produced by the Children and Family Work team at YMCA St. Paul’s Group.
We help whole families to flourish. We have safe and trusted Early Years care and developmental activities, family support and mediation help when difficult issues arise at home or school, summer and school holiday camps, and activities that are just plain fun for everyone.

Jumpers! Nursery drop in sessions
We are delighted to invite you to our Jumpers nursery drop in sessions:
10.00am – 11.30am every Tuesday from 27 June until 29 August
This is a great opportunity for you to explore our wonderful learning environment and meet our friendly team. There will also be fun activities for children to enjoy!

Celebrating our 2023 leavers
Looking to book a children’s birthday party? Our kids parties at YMCA South Ealing are ideal for under eights.
Our party hire package means we provide use of our air conditioned soft play studio and café, and you provide supervision and refreshments. There is plenty of free parking for you and your guests. Parties cost £220 for a 2 hour slot and are available at weekends.
Are you looking for a venue to hire in South Ealing? We have a purpose made studio, ideal for adults and kids activity and dance classes available to hire.
Available from Monday – Friday, the hire charge is just £30 per hour.

Crafting Connections – oh we do like to be beside the seaside!
The Handsworth children were off to the seaside for the next instalment of their crafting connections project. They were asked to make their own shells, using paper plates, scissors and colours. They also imagined and created their very own seaside scenes.
Crafting connections is a project that aims to boost wellbeing, reduce loneliness and foster stronger, happier communities by creating joyful intergenerational experiences.
Y Active Holiday Classes return this Summer!

Dedicated to giving your child the very best start in life, our exceptional team of staff at YMCA Hampton Preschool will offer your child a wide range of creative and engaging activities, enabling them to learn and develop through play.
Hampton Preschool is now closed for the summer and re-opens on Wednesday 06 September.

Children’s parade at Notting Hill Carnival
Notting Hill Carnival is one of the longest running street parties in the world. Started by London’s West Indian communities in 1966, it’s a celebration of freedom and Caribbean culture, with an iconic parade showcasing the best of mas, soca, calypso, steel bands and sound systems.
On Sunday 27 August the Children’s Parade takes places. This is a fun event for kids to wear costumes and join in the parade too.
Celebrating International Play Day at YMCA Hawker
On August 2, we observe International Play Day. This day is celebrated on the first Wednesday in August all over the UK. The goal is to call for more play every day, which is crucial for children’s mental and physical health, as playing strengthens relationships and builds strong connections with others. In fact, it’s one of the bridges that help us feel that we belong!
The outdoor football field, tennis courts and other outdoor spaces, as well as the indoor studios, POD softplay and cafe at YMCA Hawker are the venue for the DisAbility Sports Day, run by Fulham SC Soccer School in partnership with Kingston Active4All.
Sports will include: POD Soft Play, Line Dancing, Tennis, Cricket, Zumba, Cycling, Football (including Pan DisAbility, Frame Football, Blind and Partially Sighted Football, Down’s Syndrome Football)
