Welcome to the March issue of our monthly online newsletter for children and families, produced by the Children and Family Work team at YMCA St. Paul’s Group.
We help whole families to flourish. We have safe and trusted Early Years care and developmental activities, family support and mediation help when difficult issues arise at home or school, summer and school holiday camps, and activities that are just plain fun for everyone.
Take a look at the sections below to learn about what we will be up to across our various children and families services in March.
World Book Day
The children at Jumpers nursery are celebrating World Book Day in a very crafty way!
The focus for World Book Day is Handa’s Surprise. The children listened to the story and drew their representations of the characters.

YMCA Values at Chase Lane
The children and staff at Chase Lane have been working hard in creating a display showing YMCAs Values and it is amazing!

Our YMCA values guide how we think, act and communicate. They work the same way for YMCA as they do in our personal lives.
Our group values are:
We seek out
We never stop looking for ways to transform lives for the better.
We welcome
We respect, support, and protect without fail. Everyone is included, and everyone belongs.
We inspire
We build — and rebuild — people’s confidence in their own strength, and foster conviction in everyone’s potential.
We speak out
We stand up for what’s right, advocate when needed, and encourage people to find the power of their own voice.
We serve others
We are committed to the wellbeing of others in mind, body, and spirit, and to fair and equitable opportunities for all.
Craft Connections
Handsworth children have been continuing to exchange messages with local care homes and have been focusing on KINDNESS. We created some brilliant Kindness Rainbows and shared stories of when we have been kind to someone or when someone has been kind to us.
This has led us to focus on Kindness for a couple more weeks and we have started to discuss why we should be kind to our friends and talked about using kind words.
Customer Feedback
We are currently collecting feedback from customers of our After School Clubs. All answers from the survey will help us continue the quality of service we provide, as well as allowing us to implement new changes based on your feedback. If your child uses one of our After School Clubs, then please complete our short online survey. Thankyou for your time!
