Crafting Connections – friendship of the month
This month one of our children was featured in the crafting connections magazine!
Erin and her crafting connections pairing Alan were highlighted in the article, which said:
“This month we celebrate the friendship between Erin and Alan. Creative Erin loves to know she brightens Alan’s day when he receives her post. Here’s what her Mum had to say:
“What a great concept, and one that has benefits for both generations – making someone smile is priceless. Erin loves being creative and seeing the positive impact of something she has made on someone else’s day is so rewarding.”
Alan shares how it brightens his day to contribute to a young person’s development:
“I like being friends with Erin because it brightens my day. I am very pleased to be able to take part in this friendship programme. I also believe it is nice where the older person meets a young person to help their development. I would like to see where this friendship goes and give moral support.”
Crafting connections is a project that aims to boost wellbeing, reduce loneliness and foster stronger, happier communities by creating joyful intergenerational experiences.

Rosh Hashanah – Jewish New Year
During 2023, Rosh Hashanah will begin on Friday evening, September 15, and end at sundown on Sunday, September 17.
Rosh Hashanah is a 2-day festival of celebrations to mark the Jewish New Year. Traditionally, the Shofar, which is a ram’s horn and makes a trumpet-like sound, is sounded as a wake-up call to signify the start of Tishrei. One week before Rosh Hashanah, special prayers called Selichot are part of religious rituals and ceremonies. Rosh Hashanah, is also known as Yom Hadin or the Day of Judgment, on which God opens the Books of Life and Death, which are then sealed on Yom Kippur. Yom Kippur is the Jewish Day of Atonement. It is considered the time when our souls are closest to God.
