Y Kidz Playscheme, YMCA Hawker Kingston

Join us for the Y Kidz Holiday Play Scheme!

Y Kidz will be providing fun indoors and outdoors. We have a great space with indoor and outside facilities at the YMCA Hawker, Kingston.

Children will be involved in a range of fun and engaging indoor and outdoor activities such as small team games, messy play, storytelling, trips to the local park, mindfulness, arts and crafts, music and dance, and lots more.  There will also be sports and lots of other fun activities incorporated into our daily timetable.

We have an experienced and qualified staff team who will work with the children.

Y Kidz is for 4 -11 year olds (children must be at primary school, from reception – year 6)

We’re delighted to announce that the recent Ofsted inspection of the Y Kidz Playscheme, based at YMCA Hawker, Kingston, found that we met the quality and standards of early years provision.

He loves your holiday club because there is a lot of things to do, the timetable keeps him busy and there is a good balance between free play and other activities.

My child loved playing in the soft play, the outdoor and dancing activities.

We are having an absolutely wonderful experience with Y Kidz Play. The activities are both fun and educational, keeping our son engaged and happy. He is always leaving smiling from ear to ear with so many stories to tell me!

FAQs and information for parents/carers

Y Kidz is Ofsted registered and we offer a mixture of indoor and outdoor activities.

  • Sessions will be a combination of inside and outside (depending on the weather) One area is the bowls field and the other being the large field. Tailored activities will be set in both areas. The children’s groups will swap play areas to allow them the full range of the activities provided, halfway through the session.
  • For structured arts and crafts activities, the needed resources (such as ribbon, glitter, stickers, etc) for that activity will be provided.
  • A member of staff will be in the creche area to register children for the day.
  • Please be prompt at dropping off and picking up children at the start and end times.

  • You will be able to collect your child the same way you dropped them off. Again please arrive at the stated finish time.
  • If you need to collect your child a few hours earlier than the collection time please arrange this prior to your child’s session with the Y Kidz holiday playscheme manager.
  • There will be a small break in the late morning for 15-30 minutes to have some fruit and water. The next break will be at the same time but later in the afternoon. Lunch will be from 12:00 pm – 12:45 pm.
  • Children need to bring their own packed lunch
  • Drinking water will be provided on-site but children will have to bring their own named drinking bottle.
  • Children have a briefing every morning in relation to the plan and movements for the day.
  • There is a toilet to use in the crèche away from the centre’s public toilets.
  • The outside basketball court will be accessible by the public. Y Kidz will use that area for activities at specific times.
  • Y Kidz will not use dance studios unless we have booked a time slot with the centre
