At YMCA St Paul’s Group, we are always striving to provide a safe, fun, and clean environment for the children and families who rely on our services. Our soft play area at the YMCA Hawker Centre is a key part of this, offering a space where young ones can explore and play. Keeping it in top condition, however, is no small task—which is why we were delighted when GoodGym Kingston volunteered their time and energy to give it a deep clean!
GoodGym helps people get fit by doing good. They are a group of runners, walkers, and cyclists who combine regular exercise with helping their communities. Whether it’s running to assist a local cause, supporting an older person with household tasks, or taking part in community projects like this one, GoodGym is all about making a difference while staying active.
The GoodGym Kingston team approached YMCA Hawker to offer their services as part of their community work. After an invigorating run along the Thames path, the volunteers arrived ready to take on a challenge! Their team worked hard to freshen up the play space, and got to work, deep-cleaning the ball pit, scrubbing down the soft play equipment, and retrieving lost balls. By the end of the session, the play area was looking fantastic once again. The volunteers couldn’t resist the chance to test out the equipment themselves, enjoying a well-earned play after all their hard work. A huge thank you to GoodGym – we are incredibly grateful for their support!
