FAQs and information for parents/carers about Jumpers! Nursery

Yes, if we have availability. This will be charged as an extra day and recorded as such on your invoice.

Yes, we charge the full rate for all Bank Holidays.

If you are eligible*, you will get 15 hours of funded childcare for 38 weeks, starting the term after your child turns 2 years old.  

For example: If your child is 2 on or before March 31, 2024, you will get the hours from 01 April 2024.  

If your child turns 2 between 1 April and 31 August 2024, you will get the hours from 01 September 2024. 

You can get Tax-Free Childcare at the same time as 15-or 30-hours free childcare if you are eligible for both. 

Applications for this first stage of the roll out opened on 02 January 2024. You will be asked to reconfirm that you are still eligible for the support every 3 months. 

You will receive a code if you are eligible, please pass this onto the nursery manager. Please note, without this code we cannot provide the free hours.

Each parent earning under £100k per year and at least £167 per week (equal to 16 hours at the National Minimum or Living Wage) 

No, funding is available the term after your child’s 3rd birthday. If your child is 3 in October 2021, your free entitlement will commence in January 2022.

The current ratio as stipulated in the Early Years Foundation Stage 2017 is:

  • Under 2’s-1:3
  • 2-3 year olds-1:4.
  • 3-5 year olds-1:8

Yes, we close for 2 days per calendar year. We do not charge for these days.

No, staff cannot babysit for customers

Not within the nursery kitchen as we do not have the correct facilities. However, we have a purpose built kitchen attached to our onsite café, Y Lounge. The food is delivered just prior to being served and staff record the temperature of all food. Staff who serve food hold a L2 Food Hygiene qualification.

Yes, each room has a large designated garden area.  The children spend time outside each day participating in a range of activities such as climbing, balancing, using loose parts to construct and planting seeds to name but a few.

Yes, twice each calendar year. Parents have an opportunity to meet with their child’s key person, and discuss their development in-depth. All parents receive a report covering each area of the Early Years Foundation Stage 2021.

Yes, we are part of the Ealing Partnership.  All staff attend training events delivered by Ealing and have access to the Ealing Grid for Learning. We also have an Early Years advisor who supports the setting.

Yes, we have a number of events to which parents are invited-Sports Day, Nativity, Christmas party

Our staff hold various childcare qualifications such as NNEB, Level 3 Early Years Educator, Level 2 and 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s workforce. Level 4 Diploma in Montessori Education.

Yes we accept childcare vouchers from many providers, we will also accept payment through the Tax Free Childcare scheme from HMRC

Please speak to the Manager if you intend to use vouchers or the tax free option.

At the end of the day, your child’s key person will feed back information about your child’s day. The key person will feed back information about activities and experiences that your child has participated in.

If the key person is not available, another member of the team will be available to share information with you.

There is also a daily sheet which lists what your child has eaten, nappy changes and sleep times.

Safeguarding is of paramount importance to us. All staff complete safeguarding training every two years. And also complete online training covering FGM, Child Sexual Exploitation etc

The setting has a Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads who audits all safeguarding procedures. If you have any concerns or issues, then please speak with the Nursery Manager in the first instance. If your concern relates to the Manger, please speak to the Early Years and Childcare Manager

We have a secure entry system, only staff can unlock the door from the inside. If a person is unknown to members of staff, they cannot enter the premises. Unauthorised personnel cannot enter the setting.

A register is taken during each session and intervals throughout the day each room conducts head counts.

No, it is each parents’ responsibility to provide nappies, wipes and creams for their child.

Yes, we do offer the 30 hours funding during term time, 38 weeks per year. It is your responsibility to provide your eligibility code via email to the nursery manager.

Additional information can be obtained on the government website www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

Invoices will be automatically sent to your personal email address on the 15 of each month for the following month.

We have a nursery admin tool ‘Nursery in a Box’. Once your child starts

the setting the Manager will forward you details in relation to registering your details.

Other parents cannot see your personal details. Your login details will be unique to you.

Yes, the minimum period is 2 weeks. This is a gradual process and the first week is free. The additional week will be charged at an hourly rate. Depending on the number of hours’ your child attends each day.

Settling-in is a very important process, it allows your child to form relationships with their peer group/practitioners, get used to their new surroundings and gradually come to accept their detachment from you.
