Marianna Stavrou, Regional Housing and Support Manager

Marianna Stavrou, Regional Housing and Support Manager

How long have you been with YMCA St Paul’s Group?

I have begun my journey with YMCA SPG in 2008 as a Housing and Support Officer.

What new skills have you developed during your time here?

Over the years, I’ve grown both professionally and personally. I’ve completed a Master’s degree in Housing, as well as a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management. Much of my development has also come through hands-on experience and learning on the job. I’ve been fortunate to have supportive line managers who have embodied the YMCA’s Christian ethos and helped equip me with the skills needed to progress in my career.

How would you describe your experience working at YMCA SPG?

Thanks to that support and guidance, I’ve had the opportunity to take on more responsibility. I now work closely with our Ofsted-registered properties, ensuring we remain compliant with regulatory standards. One of the most valuable skills I’ve developed recently is the ability to step back and view things from an organisational perspective—to see the bigger picture.

What would you say to someone considering a role at YMCA SPG?

YMCA SPG is a fantastic place to work. No two days are ever the same, and there’s always something new and unexpected to navigate. What truly stands out is the supportive team culture. Everyone is committed to a shared purpose: helping young people thrive.

I would absolutely encourage anyone to consider a career at YMCA. If you’re passionate about making a difference and supporting young people to become the best version of themselves, this is the place to be.
