Surbiton Golf Club Raises £50,000 for YMCA Surbiton’s Move On Grant

Surbiton Golf Club Raises £50,000 for YMCA Surbiton’s Move On Grant

YMCA St Paul’s Group is delighted to celebrate the incredible support received from Surbiton Golf Club over the past year, following their selection of YMCA Surbiton as the Club Captains’ Charity for 2025/26.

Thanks to the generosity and fundraising efforts of Club Captains Georgina Headley and Ciaran Carvalho, club members and supporters, an amazing £50,000 has been raised to support young people experiencing homelessness.

Throughout the year, Surbiton Golf Club hosted a range of fundraising events, with proceeds dedicated to YMCA Surbiton’s Move On Grant project.

The Move On Grant helps residents aged 16–35 who are ready to take the next step into independent living but face financial barriers such as rental deposits and the cost of essential household items. Eligible residents will receive tailored support based on their individual needs, with YMCA Housing and Support Officers helping them to build confidence, manage budgets and savings, and identify suitable and affordable housing options.

The £50,000 donation will make a significant difference in helping young people move forward with confidence and stability.

Kerry Oldfield-Spence, Regional Housing and Support Manager, was delighted to attend the event on behalf of YMCA Surbiton to receive the cheque and thank everyone involved for their generosity and support.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Surbiton Golf Club, its members and everyone involved in making this partnership such a success. Their support will have a lasting impact on the lives of young people across our community.

We would also like to thank LandAid for their continued support in helping young people at risk of homelessness access the opportunities and resources they need to thrive.
