We recently had the incredible opportunity to take a group of our young people to Wembley Stadium to watch the Lionesses take on Spain. It was an unforgettable experience, made even more special thanks to an England win!
The group included young people from our Hayes and Northolt football projects, as well as participants from our Airplay youth clubs at RAF Northolt. Bringing these groups together made the day even more special, giving everyone the chance to share the excitement and meet new people beyond their usual sessions.
This trip was made possible, thanks to the generous support of the Jack Petchey Foundation and City Bridge Foundation. Their funding allowed us to give our young people this amazing experience, and we’re hugely grateful for their continued investment in opportunities like this.
For a long time, we’ve wanted to take our young people to a match at Wembley. This match provided the perfect opportunity, showcasing football at the highest level. Watching the Lionesses in action gave everyone a real sense of the quality, discipline, and passion involved in the game. The atmosphere inside Wembley was electric, and for many of the young people, it was their first time in such a huge stadium.
Trips like this are about more than just football. They inspire, motivate, and show young people what’s possible. Whether it’s seeing elite athletes up close or simply sharing a memorable day with friends, experiences like these can have a lasting impact.
A big thank you again to the Jack Petchey Foundation and City Bridge Foundation for making this happen, and to our Youth Workers who helped bring the day together.
