Wimbledon 150

In 1874, in Victorian Wimbledon, two “good men” decided to establish a centre where young men could get together in the evenings after working hours.

The spark that those young men lit 150 years ago has impacted on the lives of thousands of people across Wimbledon as well as the Borough of Merton. Over the years the YMCA in Wimbledon supported for Victorian young apprentices, gave sanctuary to service men returning from trenches of the Great War, provided a place to be healthy in body and mind for local people and latterly a place to call home for young and vulnerable people facing homelessness.

Now in 2024, we are delighted to celebrate our 150 years of work in Wimbledon and we would like to invite you to be a part of our celebrations.
