Partnership with Surbiton Golf Club

We are thrilled to announce that Surbiton Golf Club has chosen  YMCA Surbiton as their Captains’ Charity for the year!

The Club Captains, Ciaran Carvalho and Georgina Headley officially named YMCA Surbiton as their charity of choice at the launch event in March 2025. During the event, our Acting Chief Executive, Fred Angole, together with Kerry Oldfield-Spence, our Regional Housing and Support Manager, Asher, our Progression Manager, and our resident representatives shared powerful stories from young people who faced homelessness and how charities like LandAid and YMCA St Paul’s Group helped them to turn their lives around.

Throughout the coming year, Surbiton Golf Club will host a range of events, with proceeds going toward Moving on Grant for YMCA Surbiton. This project aims at bridging the financial gap faced by YMCA Surbiton residents aged 16-35 who are ready to ‘move on’ to independent living but are unable to save for a rental deposit and/or provide basic household items, helping young people take their next steps toward independent living.
