Welcome to the April issue of our monthly online newsletter for children and families, produced by the Children and Family Work team at YMCA St. Paul’s Group.
We help whole families to flourish. We have safe and trusted Early Years care and developmental activities, family support and mediation help when difficult issues arise at home or school, summer and school holiday camps, and activities that are just plain fun for everyone.

Nursery Photoshoot – say Cheese!
We had some new photos done of our lovely outdoor space at Jumpers! Nursery. The children were brilliant at showing us all the fantastic play equipment available. Thanks to all the nursery staff and children for being superstars!
Parents Workshop for Easter
We had a fantastic workshop for Jumpers! Nursery children and parents where all enjoyed a variety of fun Easter-themed activities and crafts. Thankyou for coming!
Parents Evenings
There will be parents evening in each rooms on the following dates and times:
Ladybirds: Tuesday 23 April 6.15-8.00pm
Bumblebees: Wednesday 24 April 6.15-8.00pm
Butterflies: Thursday 25 April 6.15-8.00pm
This is a great opportunity to speak to your child’s key person about their progress, and receive a report.
You will be able to book a time slot from the week beginning 8 April.
Please note, this is only for parents whose children started in the setting before 1 March.
Training Day
Please note that the setting is closed on Friday 26 April due to staff training.
Happy Eid Mubarak
The children from the butterflies group enjoyed talking about Ramadan and Eid. They got creative and did some brilliant pictures, making the moon and starts to represent the Islamic symbol – don’t they look great!

Are you looking for a venue to hire in South Ealing? We have a purpose made studio, ideal for adults and kids activity and dance classes available to hire.
Available from Monday – Friday, the hire charge is just £30 per hour.

Handsworth After School Club – Published Poets!
Huge congratualtions to our reception children from the Handsworth ASC who took part in a “first poem challenge”. Eight of the children’s poems have been selected to be published in a book. What a lot of talent!

We’ve been having a great time making Easter crafts:
Y Kidz will be providing fun indoors and outdoors. We have a great space at one of our After School Clubs Whittingham Primary Academy.
Children will be involved in a range of fun and engaging indoor and outdoor activities such as small team games, messy play, storytelling, trips to the local park, mindfulness, arts and crafts, music and dance, and lots more. There will also be sports and lots of other fun activities incorporated into our daily timetable.
We have an experienced and qualified staff team who will work with the children.

Week 1:
Tuesday 2 – Friday 5 April
Week 2:
Monday 8 – Friday 12 April
Location: Whittingham Primary Academy, 340 Higham Hill Road, Walthamstow, E17 5QX
Age Group: 4 -11 year olds (children must be at primary school, from reception – year 6)

10am – 4pm
8.30 am – 5.30 pm
Price:
£34 per day for 10am start

Softplay fun
Based at the YMCA Hawker in Kingston, the Pod is a two storey soft play centre open seven days a week for indoor play. Costs are just £6.60 per child, including one adult. Visit our Pod page for full details..
All sessions are walk-in only, customers pay at reception. No online booking.
Please check the website for the latest opening times. Session times will be in operation during school holidays.
